Sneha Chowdhury

Sneha Chowdhury is a PhD candidate in comparative literature at Brown University, working at the intersection of German–Hindi literary exchange, modernist poetry, and translation theory. Her dissertation examines how translation shapes modernist poetics across German and Hindi literary traditions, bringing them into comparative dialogue.

Her research has been supported by the Presidential Fellowship and the Cogut Institute’s Collaborative Humanities Fellowship at Brown, as well as UC Berkeley’s Premchand Award for Hindi Studies, a Deutscher Akadamischer Austachdienst (DAAD) short-term research grant, and support from the Deutsches Literaturarchiv, Marbach. Her writing has appeared in Critical Inquiry, German Life and Letters, Modern Language Notes, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. She holds an MPhil and an MA in English literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
