Sneha Chowdhury

Sneha Chowdhury is a PhD candidate in comparative literature at Brown University. Her research interests include modernist poetry in English, German, and Hindi, global modernism, and theories of translation, lyric theory, and continental philosophy. Her dissertation undertakes a comparative study of twentieth-century Neoromantic poetry in German and Hindi and interrogates how they are entangled with the question of the nation. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in German Life and LettersModern Language Notes (German Issue)The Modernist Review and the Los Angeles Review of Books, among other places. She is a recipient of Brown University’s Presidential Fellowship as well as other grants, and was recently awarded a DAAD German Studies Research Grant to conduct dissertation research in Germany.
