Susanna Sun is a PhD student in the joint program of East Asian Languages and Civilizations and Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Chicago. Her research theorizes classical Chinese drama and performance and their modern afterlives through aesthetics, gender, media, and material culture, with particular attention to masculinity, embodiment, and theatrical agency. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Chinese Oral and Performing Literature.
