Carmen Faye Mathes is assistant professor of English at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 4 lands. She is the author of Poetic Form and Romantic Provocation (2022), a book that explores how Romanticism’s provocative poetic forms index a critical refusal to use art to move subjects towards dominant structures of feeling. Her essays and criticism have appeared in both scholarly and public venues, including Representations, Studies in Romanticism, European Romantic Review, Keats-Shelley Journal, Public Books, EVENT Magazine, and the Capilano Review. Her next project takes up figurative postures for labour and longing in poetry from across the long-eighteenth century.
