Christian P. Haines is an assistant professor of English at Penn State University. He is the author of A Desire Called America: Biopolitics, Utopia, and the Literary Commons (2019). His work has appeared in Genre, Criticism, Cultural Critique, LIT, boundary 2, and many others. He serves as a contributing editor for Angelaki: Journal of the Theoretical Humanities. He's also coedited a special issue of Cultural Critique, "What Comes After the Subject?" (Spring 2017) and a special issue of The Minnesota Review, "Is there a place for the commons?" (Fall 2019). He's currently writing a second book, The Scored Life, which looks at finance and contemporary culture, as well as doing research for a book on weird fiction and weird biology, A Natural History of the Weird.
