Cristóbal Amunátegui is Assistant Professor of Architectural History at the University of California, Los Angeles. His research interests include architecture’s association with art, finance, and technology in the nineteenth century, as well as aspects of twentieth-century modernism. He is currently working on a book manuscript on the relationship between buildings, crowds, and speculation in 1880s France.
