Jennifer Dubrow is associate professor of Urdu at the University of Washington-Seattle. She is the author of Cosmopolitan Dreams: The Making of Modern Urdu Literary Culture in Colonial South Asia (Honolulu, HI, 2018; Ranikhet, 2019), as well as several articles on the Urdu novel, serialization, and progressive writing. She is currently writing her second book, Voicing Dissent: Urdu Literary Modernism and the Progressive Writers in 20th-Century South Asia, on the relationship between aesthetics, politics, and form in the work of the Progressive Writers’ Association from the 1930s to the 1960s.
