Katie Trumpener

Katie Trumpener is Emily Sanford Professor of Comparative Literature and English at Yale. Her publications include Bardic Nationalism: The Romantic Novel and the British Empire (1997)On The Viewing Platform: Panoramas Between Canvas and Screen (2020, coed., Tim Barringer); and many essays on European literary, film, and visual culture, from representations of Gypsy life to émigré picturebooks. She is finishing a critical edition of John Galt’s 1831 Bogle Corbet, or The Emigrants; a book (Captive Audiences) on film life in Nazi Germany, German-occupied Europe, émigré enclaves, and POW camps, and a book of essays (The Novel Astray) about the early history of the European novel.
