Maysoon Shibi holds a PhD in Palestinian folk literature from the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies in Tel Aviv University (2021).
She is currently a postdoctoral fellow of the Minerva Stiftung at the Freie Universität Berlin's Seminar for Semitic and Arabic Studies. Her current research concerns poetic meter in Arab women’s poetry in the modern era.
