Patrick Kindig is the author of the monograph Fascination: Trance, Enchantment, and American Modernity (2022) and the poetry collections fascinations (2025) and Agape (2026). His scholarship has appeared in Critical Inquiry, PMLA, GLQ, Modernism/modernity, Twentieth-Century Literature, and other journals. Currently, he is at work on a monograph titled Perceiving Queerly: Sexual and Perceptual Deviance in the Age of Sexual Science, which explores how, since the late nineteenth-century heyday of sexology, popular understandings of sexuality have been shaped by and articulated through the language of sense perception.
