Sean Silver and Sarah Van Cleve

 

Sarah Van Cleve is a PhD student in English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan where she studies the rise of the British novel across the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. She is interested in the novel as a technology that emerges alongside other technologies like the postal service, stage coaches, railways, standardized time, canals, and mapmaking. 

 

Sean Silver is associate professor of Literature at Rutgers University and NOMIS Fellow at eikones, Universität Basel. He is author of The Mind Is a Collection: Case Studies in Eighteenth-Century Thought, an exhibit catalogue and virtual museum of objects used to model cognitive processes in 17th- and 18th-century Britain. Please visit at www.mindisacollection.org.
