Timothy Erwin is professor of English at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and writes about the visual culture of the Enlightenment. He has been named Traveling Lecturer of the West for the Jane Austen Society of North America (2016–18), and his Textual Vision: Augustan Design and the Invention of Eighteenth-Century Culture (2015) was recently reissued in paperback.
