Veena Das, FBA, is Research Professor of Anthropology at Johns Hopkins University. Her most recent books are Textures of the Ordinary (2020), Voix de ordinaire (2021), Slum Acts (2022), and a coedited book with Didier Fassin, Words and Worlds: A Lexicon for Dark Times (2021). Das is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy.
