Zakir Paul is an assistant professor in the Department of Comparative Literature at New York University, where he also directs the program in Poetics & Theory. His first book, Disarming Intelligence—forthcoming with Princeton University Press—examines the role and limits lent to "intelligence" by early twentieth-century French writers and thinkers, including Marcel Proust, Paul Valéry, and Henri Bergson.
